Inscriptions/ Lettering
We can add additional inspriptions in the graveyard using the most advanced safety equipment, coupled with materials that are both natural and safe for our employees, the general public and the environment. We do not ever use Sand we use a product called Garnet that is silica free. We are industry specialists in adding additional lettering onto existing headstones. We can also refresh faded lettering in gold leaf or white, black & silver enamel paint.
Headstone Additional Inscription Services
Not only do we supply and erect gravestones and headstones in your local cemetery. Our highly experienced team of stonemasons can also add additional inscriptions to your loved ones headstone, even when you already have a headstone in place. We are happy to carry out additional inscriptions on any memorial headstone, even if we did not initially erect it.
Whether your loved one’s headstone / gravestone is made from Granite, Marble or Sandstone it is not a problem for us to add additional lettering and details to it.
We will use the same font and size of lettering as the original headstone so you can be rest assured that the new additional inscription will look as natural as the original lettering on the headstone.
Some older headstones were engraved by hand and therefore, it is impossible to replicate. We will match this as best we can but it is impossible to get it exact. We will advise you when this is the case.

What does our headstone additional inscription service include?
Some fonts are so old and were hand created, these can never be perfectly replicated, but we do get it relatively close.
- We will visit the cemetery and examine the existing headstone.
- We will identify the existing font and size of lettering. We will also see how much space is left for the additional inscription that is to be added to the headstone.
- We will then provide you with a quotation and if requested, a scaled template with the specific details of the work involved along with the costs.
- We will then if required, apply to your local council on your behalf, to gain permission to carry out the additional inscription works on the headstone.
- Once we have permission and the template signed off by the customer, we then carry out the work and if requested we can send you a photo of the completed additional inscription.
